SEA ANGLING
Carrigaholt Sea Angling Centre is based in the fishing village of Carrigaholt in the mouth of the Shannon Estuary on the Loop Head peninsula.
It offers great sea fishing on its charter boat, the "Clare Dragoon". This is a 37 foot "Lochin" and fitted out as a first class sea-angling vessel, licenced to carry 12 anglers. It is powered to a top speed of 30 knots by a 650 HP Caterpillar engine and equipped with a full range of modern fish finding and safety gear.
The skipper, Luke, is an experienced fisherman with a vast knowledge of the local fishing waters.
Penn fishing rods and reels are for hire on board, other supplies are available from a well-stocked tackle shop.
Catches will include all types of whitefish (pollock, cod, ling etc.) as well as blue shark, tope, conger and ray.The sheltered waters of the estuary can be fished in all weather conditions.
It also offers accommodation in its own guesthouse and can offer the clients great value on all-in: fishing, B&B and meals package. Shannon Airport is only an hour's drive and transfers can be organized.
